Description

The listing, Ladies Beautiful Ring has ended.

This is a ring that I found in a old house. I will be honest and tell you that I do not know much about this ring. I have tried to take as many pictures with flash on and with flash off but the pictures just don't come out so clear.
* I will try my best to explain as much detail about this ring as I can.
* I have put this on the ring chart and it appears to be about size 9, putting it on 9.5 it appears to look smaller.
* There is a marking inside ring, it is a U with arrow going straight across the U from right to left.
* Next to the U with arrow there is number 8
* I did hold magnet to this ring and it does not stick to a magnet.
* I would like to say this is sterling silver but it is not marked 925
* If you have any questions Ill do my best to answer, also if anyone maybe familiar with the marking on this ring please comment because I really have no idea.
* Please look at all pictures and read all details of this listing before bidding.
Thanks for looking and happy bidding

Look nat this link. On the top right are two U with arrows. One is through. Is this what the mark on yours looks like? http://www.925-1000.com/americansilver_U.html.... I'm just trying to help you get maybe a little more info on your ring :)

Yes, It sure is!! It is the one on the right second picture down where the one line goes all the way through the U then the arrow point to the left. That is the exact one that is marked on this ring. So what exactly does the marking mean?

It's costume jewelry made by Uncas Mfg. You can look them up. They make some pretty costume jewelry.

OK, well that's nice to know. Would you say it is sterling silver? It is not marked 925 but I have a very strong magnet and it does not stick to this ring.

It's likely plated but I'm not sure. It's probably not cubic zirconia, It's not a diamond, but could be glass or even someother natural stone like zircon maybe. I wish I could help you out more but I will say they do make some very pretty stuff. Oh, and this ring is likely to have been made before 1988.

Well you have already helped out a lot with finding what the marking means. Im not so sure it is sterling either but I have some old silver plated flatware and I know the magnet sticks to that very quickly, LOL but this ring -magnet does not stick to it so Im not really sure what it is. I knew it had to be older ring and is very beautiful but as far as it being sterling silver, since magnet doesn't stick its possibility it could be.

In the 90's I had rings marked like this. They were plated and from Walmart, etc. I bought mine back then for $4. They are the only ones I have ever seen marked like that. Usually sterling says 925 or any other number meaning sterling. I am sure this is one of the costume rings with a cz or crystal.

I wasn't sure if it was actually plated because normally a magnet will stick to plated. Do you remember if your plated ring, if a magnet sticks to it?

I cant honestly say if it is sterling silver or plated but I can say that a magnet does not stick to it and a magnet will stick to plated flatware that I tested magnet on.

Hi! I know it is late but I meant to ask you if the band is fairly thin? And is the stone clear? Sparkles? Thanks! Been watching!
