there are TWO different plans - not a few
1. streaming
2.DVD by mail

I think for DVD by mail , you have to pay for each dvd , so if in the title is 1 Year Subscription , is a streaming plan.

When you purchase a Netflix gift card the amount of that card goes into your New or Existing Netflix account. Netflix will deduct whatever monthly charge from the balance of money in your netflix account. So if you just stream that will be deducted but if you stream and rent dvd`s you will reduce your account quicker. I had purchased (3) gifts cards off Ebay (2) of my cards were good and one was a fake number but Netflix took care of it and procesuted the seller and Paypal returned the money payed. Thank you for listing such a great auction these Netflix cards come in handy :)

ok last comment - you can apply it to either- this is off of their site
"Any gift amount you purchase through the Gift page can be applied to a DVD or Streaming account" in fact if you have a 12 month sub and want to apply it to both then the 12 month will then expire after 6 months
