Have you registered the serial codes for each of these?

You cannot play the games without using the registration code.You can't "unregister" the Sims 2 either. Once you've registered the game and Expansion Packs, they're in your name forever. You can sell them on Listia but whoever buys them can't register them for themselves. They'll still be able to play and install them, they just won't be able to have them registered on their EA.com account since they're in your account already.

Yes, the main game is the basic Sims 2 Double Deluxe. It has the main game and two additional added downloads-one is Sims Nightlife and one is Celebration Stuff pack.

Which operating systems does this work on?

EA says it works on Windows XP and Vista. But if you go on YouTube there are a lot of videos on how to configure it to run on Windows 7. I have not tried it on my Windows 7 machine (because I run Sims 3), so no guarantees there.
