Believe it or not...some people like the patina with a vintage item...I suggested cleaning such as Dishwasher Cleaning before storing items.

You are correct YeOldPicker..... You should NEVER clean a vintage item! Only a basic wipe with a dry cloth to get dust bunnies off.
