Great laptop. Only has 512mb of ram. Comes with battery and power adapter.

Windows Vista Home Basic. I've reset it to factory and added AVG Free antivirus to it.

There is a vertical line going down the screen. This does not affect the functionality if the laptop.

Well, you can always load xp or a Linux operating system. Actually, turning it into a Linux box is a great idea.

Yes. It is slow because it only has 512mb of Ram. The battery only holds about 5 minutes at 100%.

Your loose frame is a minor problem. It usually involves removal and then replacement of the original frame again; however, I just repair files. A screwdriver techie can probably give better advice.
