Description

The listing, Sewing Thread-Nylon-Spools, S,M & L has ended.

Hi again, here is another thready auction, I have five of these exact sets. I am putting them in smaller batches because the last listing cost over $11.00 to ship because of the weight. These 13 items weigh 1lb 8 ozs, not including any packing. If a few people are interested in a combined auction I will consider it with some defraying of the shipping cost. So let your thoughts be known, and thank you for watching, fanning and bidding as always.
*As usual surprise extras are going to be included*
4 - 4" Spools-2 white & 2 black, 1" opening
3 - 1 1/2" white rolls, plastic in middle(4-added 1 more)
6 - 1" black spools, cardboard in middle
*Extra's added*
12-1 1/2" x 5/8" cotton threads(colors shown)
I will mix and match if certain colors are preferred.

Looks like a great auction. I'm a bit tired tonight; so could you elaborate: are the large spools nylon? Are they ok to use on regular sewing machines? I notice you have under 'extra's: that there are cotton threads. I just want to make sure I can use to make the drapes. I am using heavy weight drapery and was planning to use all cotton thread (same as fabric), a poly blend will be ok. I never thought of nylon as that might be too much for the fabric. What would we use the nylon on? ty

Hi, NormaJean1, I am not an expert but I will try to answer. I believe the larger spools are nylon. My dad was a trained tailor and always used the nylon for strength with whatever he sewed but that was his preference. I believe the medium white spools are a cotton nylon blend that have 2 or three plys. The smaller black ones are nylon and the small extra's are cotton I think. The nylon is strong but very thin which I think is a plus instead of using a thicker ply cotton. What color were you thinking of using?

I need white, off white, cream and lighter shades for the drapes. I think I could use the black for upholstery. I am covering the dining room chairs and I am using a dark navy print for the seat cushions. Since he was a tailor that explains a lot to me :-) thank you for infor

I won the last batch of these so I can chime in on this one. These cannot be used on a normal sewing machine, they are too thick. You need an industrial grade sewing machine to use this thread. It is designed for drapery and canvas and awnings. (Unless of course this batch is inherently different than the last batch was)

Hi LadyHawkFalcon, only the smaller white are as thick as the ones you won, most of these are the thinner type of thread.
