I had another type of button with the black flocking, and they lasted a lot longer than I expected them to. It started wearing off after about a year...but understand, this was a dress I wore a LOT - a favorite throw it on and be comfy kinda dress. However, if you want them to stay looking Nice, don't do what I did. They really look more dressy than that anyway.
