Children's Walkie Talkie Set with a Morse Code listing on front and a button to send the codes. Has a button the side to use for talking on them. Has a on/ off switch by that button. A belt clip on back. Takes a 9 volt battery which is included. Used a few times but my granddaughter would much better play dress up or my little pony.

Sorry I do not really know. It worked well in our home from basement to 2nd floor. But my granddaughter really didn't want to play with them. They are for children, not one of the better sets.

I would also know if they make static sounds when you are not holding the button.

I guess they do. They make the normal walkie talkie sound so it is not a blank silent sound. I have never had any of the high end units so I can not compare. Hope this helps.

do you happen to know the range will they pick up about 80 ft. away from each other want this so my sick mom can reach me when in my room thank you

I tried it with the TV and it was ok from 2nd floor bedroom to 1st floor, but not into the basement. So I do not think it would work 80ft. I would look into a baby monitor. That way if something would happen to your mom she wouldn't need to push a button. We borrowed one when I 1st came home so my wife could keep tags on me. I was so week that at time I couldn't set up so it was handy. Will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers.
