You plug it into your computer and install the software that comes with it and whenever you press the button with your foot all open screens disappear!!! When you are alone again just simply press down and a little screen will ask for your password that you created. And then all the screens that went away will reappear. UPDATE! I was asked if this item works with windows 7. I checked with my computer and it does in fact work.

Great idea it's a foot pedal because the user probably wouldn't have a free hand to use. We know at least one needs to be on the mouse....
