what is it made out of? What kind of paint do you need to use?

It is made of plastic and we use a paint that both hobby lobby and michaels sales. I actually have one listed on the site for sale. That is a SunArt glitter stain made by Palmer. They are easy enough for kids to do but adults like to do them also :)
