A delicious recipe for your family. If you have a small family your recipe will take:
1 can of cream of chicken or cream of mushroom soup (large can)
1 french onion soup (Campbells can)
1 brown gravy packet mix
1 egg
1 lb of hamburger
A dash of salt
1 green pepper (optional)
1 onion (option)
1/4 cup of saltine crackers
1 tsp of Worcestershire sauce
About 1 cup of water

This recipe is common online but we do it differently than the recipes online.

Put a thin layer of oil in a frying pan. Warm the oil. (Vegetable, olive, whatever will fry your patties best.)

Put a mix of one egg, crush the saltines, hamburger, chop up the onion and green pepper (if you are adding it) and add the salt and Worcestershire sauce. For best results, mix with hands. If you have a big family, double or even triple this recipe.

After the mixture is mixed completely, shape the patties into an oval shape (not too thick) by rolling into a ball, pinch the sides and push it down. (The picture shows the approximate shape, you can change shape if you please :) Just fry the hamburger until it is well browned, does not have to be fully cooked. It will cook later.

The gravy should go in a separate bowl. Put cream of chicken (or mushroom), french onion, brown gravy mix and water together. If there are still lumps after 1 cup of water, use a little more at a time until lumps are gone (it won't thin out while cooking very well.) After the gravy is made, put the patties in the gravy and cook for around half an hour (or until fully cooked inside).

We cook these with corn and mashed potatoes. The gravy is fantastic with mashed potatoes. Enjoy!
