The listing, CLIP DAGGA 25 seeds Leonotis nepetaefolia has ended.
Clip Dagga is such a beautiful, tall plant with numerous fluorescent orange pedals that draw in hummingbirds! Next year I will be growing these as a hedge row with tall yellow sunflowers. No chemicals have been used on these plants and seeds and no chemicals used in the soil. Makes a very relaxing tea! I provide 25 seed.
They do not climb on anything, they grow straight up and the stalks are strong. The picture of this Lion's tail, this stayed at aprox. 4 ft. for a couple months then towards the end of summer, it sprang up to 8 ft. Usually mine don't do that, they just grow tall. Every year after I harvest the flowers and leaves, I let the stems dry up to use them for supports for other plants. These work (for me) just as well as bamboo. The stems do not ever seem to rot...I've never had a problem with them doing that and use them year after year.
Thank you. They really are neat. But the pods are sharp, if you go to take hold of the plant or collect seed, you will need gloves. It's only the pods that are sharp, nothing else on the plant. But I like to see are hummers resting on the pods collection the netar from the flowers. It's pretty cool.
