This is a 1981 £0.25 Prince Charles & Lady Diana Wedding Commemorative. The official denomination of this large UK coin is 25 pence (£0.25) however that currency has been replaced by the EURO on December 16, 1995. As the name of the coin implies, it was minted and issued in celebration of the wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana on July 29, 1981.
There are two versions: a normal business strike in copper-nickel and a proof strike for collectors in silver.
