This one is close to my heart ... my mother died of ovarian cancer in 1983. She was 53. Ovarian cancer still kills many women before their time, it usually is diagnosed late and is difficult to treat.

This teal/turquoise ribbon is the symbol for ovarian and other female cancers. A very nice charm, silver plated on metal (not plastic or acrylic). This style charm also sits nicely between other charms, and you can use several these on one bracelet.

Again, made me cry also... I am currently battling breast cancer for the 2nd time... first diagnosed at 28! As I was battling it the first time, my mother was battling lymthotic cancer, my grandmother was battling brain cancer, my sister was battling ovarian cancer, my aunt was battling ovarian & breast cancer and my very best "male" friend was battling Hodgkins lymphoma.... We definitely had a support system! However, mine has returned with worse results. My mother is doing great! My grandmother passed away May 21st, 2012. My sister is doing wonderful. My aunt is battling breast cancer again (as aggressive as mine is). Well, unfortunately my best friend just passed away April 14th, 2013... I was by his side every step of the way! Also, for my grandmother and other family members...
However, I have learned a VERY importing lesson... Family is a gift that we all take for granted, but family (whether blood or not) is the only gift that continues to be your granite! Everyday is not always a day to learn, it is a day to enjoy every moment of your life... stop and talk to a stranger (it makes you forget about your pain), watch the wind blow and the rain fall from the sky (take a deep breath, it smells so wonderful!), and most of all... be delighted that you got the time you have on earth... because when you look around, the people and scenery are far more important then used to be! When your friend, family or your time is through here, you will NOW for sure that 1 smile changes EVERYTHING! :-D
Keep your chin up and a smile on your face... you now know that my stranger to meet today was you!! You made my pain go away for a brief time and you can always say, "she may be gone tomorrow, but this moment will never be forgotten!"... Thank you, nice to meet you my stranger! :-D

i just bid on your item. i am really interested because last year at age 20 I was diagnosed with sertolli cell tumor. One of the rearest ovarian cancer. They caught just in time and with one ovary left I was able to have my now 5month old baby. Ive been looking for pendents and everything and this is the first one I came across. Thank you for posting this because every where i look its always about breast cancer and ovarian cancer should be recognized more often. thank you so much.

Thanks, good to know! I think all the colors (except probably the pink) are used for a variety of awareness campaigns. It's easy to look up what color is associated with each type of illness.

Well, if you haven't tried it already you might want to consisder what worked for my daughter. I had awful pain from the time I was a teenager. I don't think I had ovarian cysts but I had hemorrhaging fibroids. I found that out when I tried to have kids. After going through FOUR doctors and lots of other surgeries/tests, I finally found a doc who knew what he was doing, removed the fibroids and got pregnant. I had everything out when my youngest was about two years old and I've been comfortable ever since.

I hope you find a solution ... it's no way to live, trust me, I know.

I know you are getting lots of comments but when I saw this auction tears came to my eyes. I currently have Uterine Cancer. Since it is not a "sexy" Cancer as I like to say. Most people have no idea what color our Ribbon is. To the person who has Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome I would like to say that it is the precursor to Ovarian Cancer so it makes sense that the ribbon is for both. It is a heartbreaking disease, and I wish you the very best with your treatments. Quite a while ago, a Listia member wrote and asked if I could get this color ribbon for ovarian cancer. I searched and searched but could not find them, but now the Chinese charm makers are making these awareness ribbons in pretty much all colors. So I'm happy to be able to get them for Listia ...
