Soak your seeds. Fill a pan or shallow dish with water and immerse the seeds for 24 hours.

2

Plant the seeds 1-inch deep into quality potting soil, . Keep the skin on the bean. Be sure the round tip of the bean is partially exposed above the soil.

3

Water your plant daily. Be careful not to overwater. The soil should stay moist, but well-drained in the pot.

4

Transplant your seedlings. In three to six weeks, the bean will sprout three sets of leaves from the main green stalk. When you see the three sets of leaves, move the seeds into individual pots. Plant the seeds in the same way you germinated (originally planted) them, but this time center the sprouting bean in the soil.

5

Continue to water your plants daily to encourage strong growth.

6

Repot the plant to stimulate growth and avoid binding the plant to its roots. Using a spade, scoop out the plant and move the entire plant to a new pot. Keep all roots intact.

7

Avoid harsh temperatures and natural conditions. Keep the plant healthy--if you plant your tree outside, be sure temperatures never dip below 50°F. High wind and intense sun can also spoil the plant.

8

Maintain a healthy temperature. Make sure your plant is growing indoors or outdoors in the 65 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit. Situate the plant so it receives morning sun and afternoon shade.
