This is a great plant for green thumbs, and anyone into the challenge of growing and propagating unusual or particularly rare to see at home! It takes a male and female date tree to produce the dates, so I made the auction for 10 so that hopefully you will have some male and female trees, and can have good success. If you live in a non tropical region, or cooler Northern area you will need to overwinter the inside.

Native to Morocco! As with other palm species, Medjool Date trees can be grown from seed, but the trees will be slow to develop and the gender, and thus fruiting capacity, of the resulting tree will not be known for many years. If you are as interested in the process of growing Medjool date palms from seed, as you are in the result, it is easy enough to do.

Instructions will be emailed to the winner, on how to propagate these seeds. I cannot offer free shipping due to the bulky shape of these seeds. They are much like a pecan. They smash easily and must be mailed with bubble wrap and extra postage. I charge exact shipping as what the post office charges me to ship.
