Description

The listing, Intel mobile CPU P6100 has ended.

This is an Intel mobile CPU, Socket G1 (PGA988) 2.00GHz Dual Core CPU, SLBUR. It came out of my functioning Sony Vaio VPC-EB series laptop when I upgraded it.

This is the link to Intel's Ark for all info you could possibly need:
http://ark.intel.com/products/50175/Intel-Pentium-Processor-P6100-3M-Cache-2_00-GHz?q=p6100

Ark doesn't list all the chipsets this is compatible with, but I know my Sony has an HM55, so I'm sure of its' compatibility. There are NO bent pins and has been handled carefully, all thermal paste has been removed.

Please check for compatibility before bidding as I will not refund, change or otherwise 'accommodate' you should you not know what you're doing with this :-)
I will guarantee it not to be DOA, but you will have to prove by whatever means that you handled it and installed it PROPERLY into a compatible rig. Sorry to be so 'bossy' sounding about it, but I have to cover mine too. Thanks for understanding and good luck bidding!!

If you don't mind my asking, what CPU did you upgrade to? The reason I ask is because I have a laptop with a P6200 in it now and I am looking for CPU upgrade ideas.

Mine was an HM55 chipset so currently it has an i5-430M, but I plan on going to an i5-540 or 560M. It will take a few i7's but the heat vs. speed debate made me decide on the i5 series. You can find the chipset you have with CPU-Z or something similar then go to http://ark.intel.com and search for your chipset and it will give compatible CPUs....

I can't run anything on it right now until I replace the motherboard (kool-aid spill into keyboard) but in the event that the processor got killed when the motherboard died, I figured I might as well upgrade rather than buying the same one again. I googled to get the chipset and mine is also the HM55. Good to know for sure you were able to go up to the i5, cool. So I know I'll be safe with an i3 then, since the TDP is the same between my old (P6200) and my future (i3-330m. Thanks for trading notes with me!
