it was a DVD/Blu-Ray combo. does the code receive a higher quality UV if it was from a blu-ray purchase over the dvd? this is interesting!

Yes, in most cases you receive an HD version (depending on the issuing studio).
"Cloud Atlas" is issued by Warner Bros. and they are more inconsistent/unreliable compared to other studios.

Makes sense when you think about it.
If you bought a DVD, and are content with the SD quality - then you should receive a SD version in the cloud. Ditto with Blu-Ray and HD quality.
The crazy part is how the studios arbitrarily decide which BD titles get HD.
