The listing, Sony Cyber-Shot has ended.
I am looking to do what I can with this camera. I had it for a year but picked up a new camera for my vacation to New Mexico. This camera is still fairly new with a wall charger for the battery and extra battery w/ connector for the car lighter as well. 10x optical zoom w/14.1 mega pixels Optical steady shot........all in all a great camera to have for any picture moment.
Howdy, Fanned and Watching. I see all the comments about shipping, and about paypal/cocealed cash, etc, do you not have a paypal account (didn't see it mentioned anywhere)? Also, are you a Marine, or is the mc for Master of Ceromonies? Excellent Auction, hope I can keep up with the bidding, I've been outbid on 6 cameras in a row, so far, lol!
BTW, just for your info, if you DON'T have a paypal account, and want one (it really IS the best, safest way to pay and be payed on the web), it's really easy, and only requires your email address. You will find that MOST people on Listia (and nearly EVERYONE on eBay, etc.) require, or at least prefer payment (where payment, usually for shipping, is required) through paypal. Strictly FYI, but you being a newbie and all, I try to help.Have a great day! =)
I am new at this as you know. Please explain the payment system.....it seems as if we use these credits to buy things but use cash to ship and or receive them??? Or am I mistaken....I apologize for the ignorance.
You just go to paypal and fill out their form. They'll verify whatever banking arrangements you want to make for fuding your account. Personally, I mostly fund mine by eBay sales, but if there's nothing there, it automatically debits my checking account when I make a purchase. Been w/ paypal for over 4 years, now, and never a shadow of a problem. And you can do all your shipping there at a discount, and all kinds of merchant services.
Ok, basicaly, it's a glorified barter system. except instead of a direct trade of merchandise ('cause face it nobody could ever agree, lol), I put my stuff up for auction. People who want it bid it up till auction ends. Many people offer FREE SHIPPING for their auctions. some, for instance, someone who's auctioning off a big quartz crystal that weighs 6 pounds, will ask the winning bidder to pay the exact shipping costs (usually through paypal invoice, because thyey'll do their shipping label there for mailing) simply because it wouldn't be fair to ask the seller to pay shipping charges on a large item. Others, will take advantage of this shipping system to make a profit in cash (mostly folks auctioning off cheap stuff in China, then asking for $6.99 or up for shipping (+20-30 days ship time (which means they are using China post or Hong Kong post or EMS standard, all of which are nearly free to indigenous folks and take forever, so they end up w/ credits to acquire more merchandise+ $ for profit) So that's the deal w/ shipping. Once you have your credits from your auction, you can then look around listia and find items you just HAVE to have, and that's where you bid your credit. Unlike bidz.com, you DO NOT LOSE YOUR CREDITS UNLESS YOU WIN THE AUCTION. if someone else wins, your credits you bid return to your account. So it's really a good form of barter that allows for everyone getting what they want, while getting rid of what they dont. I REALLY hope that helps!!
And as for the shipping thing, if you just make sure and look under the timer on the auction you are interested in, it will always specify shipping arrangements. If it looks like a profiteer, dont partake in the auction. Many people will work with you on shipping. I personally like to make my shipping somewhat dependent on the bid tota I get. For instance, in an auction for a pocket knife, i might specify exact shipping paid by winner UNLESS the bid exceeds say 3500 credits, after which I will pick up the shipping charge. See what I mean? you can almost always find whAT YOU WANT FOR WHAT YOU WANT TO PAY. sO FAR i'VE FOUND lISTIA.COM TO BE ONE OF THE FOREMOST AUCTION SITES ON THE WEB. aND i DO A LOT OF EBAYING! ANYWAY, HAVE A GREAT NIGHT AND i HOPE THIS HELPS YOU TO GET INTO THE FLOW HERE, AND ENJOY YOURSELF. iT'S A GREAT COMMUNITY OF PEOPLE OVERALL!!
Well, darindanielmc, it's official, we just passed out of my fundable zone, and I'm out of the bidding, Congratulations, though, on a Great Auction! Looks like you'll probably top out near 20,000, which is excellent! Good luck!!
