i learned from someone else. here it is Using a size H crochet hook make a slip knot on your hook and rest the hair tie on your hook and yarn over and pull through making a slip stitch. This will lock the yarn on your hair tie. Sc around the hair tie and make sure no spaces are in between so you can't see the hair tie. I even pull it a little and put a few extra stitches on. Sl st in the first sc. Ch 5, Sl st in next sc st and repeat all the way around and sl st in the first sc and fasten off. Yarn Weight: 100% Cotton....please don't skimp and use other yarn....it does not last and is not as pretty and frilly as the cotton yarn is.
Black HEAVY DUTY Hair Ties.....I get mine at Family Dollar for a dollar and I get the THICK HEAVY DUTY ones and then I take wire pliers and crimp HARD on the metal part.....then I pull apart and tug on it to make sure it is not going to come apart - this step is important....you don't want to get one made and then it come apart....
