Hi! I don't a lot about this except for what I've been told. The previous owner said it was Brazilian Amethyst from the mid 1960's and said the stones were "graded A". But like I said, this is what I've been told. I think it's about 20 grams, including the metal clasp closure. It measures about 10 inches in length and is truly exquisite!
The Amethyst stones vary in size, shape and shading from dark, deep, intense purple to light lavender with a few stones having what she called a "white matrix".
