Description

The listing, Antique Brooches From the 17th-18th century has ended.

You are bidding on Two Old Antique brooches or pendants. One is a Goldplated Coin of the Roman or Greek solider and the other one is around the late 1700's tp 1800's Cameo Goldplated pendant showing artwork done by Fragonard. Its a man and woman sitting
down talking. These are really nice pendants or brooches to wear which will bring you compliments. I had these over 10 years and decided to get rid of them.

I agree with missyworld. You need to have these authenticated. They look MUCH newer to me also. And you don't want to misrepresent items that you're auctioning.

Sweetie, These may be a reproduction, but they are still Antique. These were done approx in the 60's-70's which means they are over 30 years old. So I did not misrepresent anything to anyone. They still have a free choice. The originality were from the 17th-18th century. Just look at the pictures. However, these could possibly be a re-make of those, but they were done in the 60's-70's. I sure hope this cleared up and helped abunch. Thanks, Q

To be classified as "antique" an article must be 100 or more years old. (25 years for a car or other motorized vehicle) This would be considered "collectible" (no age limit on collectible) but certainly not "antique". These are both highly collectible but to call them antiques is pushing the envelope a bit.

Hi Razz, Again, as I have stated to Thuff, I was misrepresent when I was told years ago that 30+ years meant Antique. So I was wrong, but I really thought that it was. So its not to be taken as trying to give false info, The choice is yours. However, as you can see I listed them under as collectibles and NOT Antique. I hope this help some. Thanks and I wish you a happy bidding. Q

PERHAPS you all could read what she's been writing? lol THEY ARE NOT THE AUTHENTICS, BUT ANTIQUE/VINTAGE REPRODUCTIONS which are VERY much still worth the credit and value she's put upon these...perhaps YOU should do YOUR research, as such, and understand the difference in these terms!! PLEASE listen to what she's saying, do the research, and you will know what you have here...amateurs NEED NOT APPLY!!! iF I'm not confused from what's she's written so far? I don't understand why YOU don't understand what she's saying here...bid or stay home! : )

These look like they are 1970's settings. The couple that is signed, all of those cameos have that pre-printed name. My Mom collects items with this couple on them. Good luck with your auction.

Fragonaurd is a artist signature for limoge. This piece is a reproduction of one of the most common hand painted brooch. Its hard to tell the age because they still make them today. Some date back to the early 1800s. Still a beautiful brooch either way.
A popular way to display these is to get a small frame with a velvet background and glue this into the center. Makes beautiful wall or table displays.
Best of luck and welcome to Listia

Can you add a photo of the back of the coin brooch? I also can't tell what the braided gold loop is at the bottom. Elaborate?

New information to Everyone who view These two Items:
After emailing Iitrain, I decided to stop what I was doing and take the time out to review these two pieces carefully; The Cameo is really a nice goldplated piece. As for the coin I'v notice silvery metal compound underneath the gold, which of course means its goldplated too. Although so it is, its a nice piece too, even just to fool someone as tho its the real deal coin. Eitherway, remember these are PLATED gold. Thanks and I wish everyone a Happppeeeeeee bidding. Q

Hi Iitrain,
Thanks for asking, I don't see that I can see any markings on the Coin brooch. However, on the"Front" the name Fragonard is printed on the outside where the
picture of the cameo is. I hope this help, this is my best way to describe these two items. However, I wish you the best of bidding. **Good-Luck**! Q

Hi MLBKB,
i just added 2 more pics and as for the gp loop, it looks like braids and then again it looks like leaves and it hangs down underneath the coin. this is different and unique. heck I never had this tested, but I really don;t think its gold, unless its just dirty and need to be clean. well i've listed now as gp and will let it go as gp. I don't know much about metal and I really don't have the time to check, so if I lose I'v just lost. Anyway, thank you for your time and good luck to ya.
