The listing, Retro Vintage Hollow Dragonfly Pendant Necklace W/ Chain has ended.

Hi fellow Listians. This was my first foray into Jewelry here at Listia, and it was so popular, I brought it back for an encore, lol. Offered up for your consideration is a Bronze Dragonfly measuring 1 1/2" x 1 3/4", on a 24" chain that looks like bronze, but is billed as 'alloy'! The Dragonfly is striking, with open work wings, twin sparklies for eyes and what appears to be a round tourquoise cabochon (but isn't) making up it's thorax ('stone' is sky blue, marbled with a darker blue).

The piece comes on a 24" 'alloy' chain that appears to be 'vintage bronze'.

This piece, while obviously 'costume jewelry', makes no claims to being what it's not, but makes for a very nice accent piece for those who enjoy this sort of 'natural' adornment. I've given these to female friends as Christmas presents, and they never fail to get a positive reaction (and YES, I did catch them wearing the piece out of a weekend) and they didn't just get thrown into a 'junk drawer'! LOL... no it's actually a piece of indian artwork, I found it down in the creek a few months back ;0) I was amazed how much it looks like a fish, so I stuck in my pocket and brought it home with me...lol I find a lot of indian stuff in the creek, but this is one of my better finds... ;0) Oh, and I lowered the turtle from 4500 to 3500 if your still interested in bidding on it... I think I'm going to drop another bid here on the dragonfly ;0) What's the weather like down there in Texas, is it blazing hot yet? I was going to say to that my dad was born in texas, did you ever know a Phil Thatcher by any chance?

pNot to the best of my knowledge, but Texas: not only is it BIG in 3 dimensions, it extends off into 4. 5 and even six dimensions of BIG, so tht's not too surprising! The weather, as usual for the past 6-8 years is hot and DRY. My son took his family out to camp at a state park camping area on the shores of Lake Travis, above Austin, where we used to camp when he was young. He calls and tells me that the lake's NOT THERE anymore...and he was right all that's left of the lake is the main channel of the Colorado River. The lakes down more thhan 60', and from the camping area they now had to travel close to a mile to reach the water.down multiple cliffs.
Pretty interesting about the indian artwork, we dont really have that manyamerind sites around that I know about. we used to find shards, arrowheds and chertd in NM and Ark. when I lived there, and back in East Texas, too.
just bid it, so we'll se if I keep it or not, lol.

It's probably due to that global warming, and water consumption on the rise... I was going to say that I've seen a lot of youtube video's of people finding artifacts in Texas creek beds, if you have any creeks or even a dried up creek it'd worth an hour walk just to see if there's anything... Yeah, I'm a few miles away from that mastodon park in Imperial MO, I'm always finding a flint chip or something every time I go looking... There's been a few bust days, but it's still a lot of fun and relaxing to look for them. ;0) I'm going to drop another bid here, have a good nite... -Robert
