The listing, Vintage large shot glasses - Mad Men era silver top style has ended.
A set of three mid century shot glasses with silver top -- always cool, but now getting even more attention through the show Mad Men. These glasses are iconic of that era, combining a feel of style and power.
These vintage classes are a variation of a style originally created by designer Dorothy Thorpe, who used a solid 1 inch silver dip. I don't believe these are Thorpe as the silver rim is 3/4 inch and not 1 inch.
The silver rims are very reflective, like mirrors.
I cannot pinpoint the year when these were made, but the estate from which they came suggest 60s.
NOTE: As used glasses, they are in good shape, but one of the three glasses has some of the silver coating flaked off.
We also have another set of these glasses and a set of two lowball glasses -- convo to combine order.
If you're wondering about the background, it is the Frank Sinatra album "No One Cares".
