That is correct. There is no top where you place the bars to melt. My naughty cat decided it was his. You can probably get a new one from a scentsy dealer or check your local thrift shops.

As far as I know, any round top will fit. I have been told that you could also possibly use a ceramic saucer.

You can order the top from scentsy.com. I have posted the link to the exact top in an earlier comment. It does not have the top where you melt the bars. I used just a thin glass dish. It is full size and works quite well. I listed it because I changed my room decor.
