Description

The listing, Amethyst Chunks, 8" Strand has ended.

READ THIS CAREFULLY:

I have been getting a lot of bids from people for 1 or 2 credits, who then never send an address, or send an address but never send shipping fees. Those days are now gone..

I will not ship to you unless you provide a Listia verified address within 7 days.

I will no longer be posting auctions without a starting bid.

Do not bid if you really don't want the item.

I *DO* prefer to ship multiple items to a person who wins multiple auctions, so if you are bidding on more than one item, please let me know so I can ship them all at once. It saves me time and money.

Now....to pleasanter things......

5" strand of large Amethyst chunks. Most are the length of my thumb and some are that big around. Wide variety of markings in the stone, all kinds of shades of purple and lavender and in between. These are tumbled and drilled, but of no particular cut. Just gorgeous stones!

Also... you're sure these are amethyst, not flourite?
(I love both, but would want to know...)
More thanks...

That is amethyst, yes. It's not high grade, or even gem grade, although most of the pieces have areas that probably are big enough to be cut and faceted, if there are no inclusions to break it up. This is also MUCH harder than flourite, which gets dusty if it rubs against itself....these are quite shiny and hard as...well....rocks. LOL

OK, confused! My thumb is about 2" long! LOL
So, 10 stones ... 5" strand...
could you measure one of them or explain?
Thanks!

Lemme dig the buggers out, sec....I did my listings alphabetically this time, to make them easier to find, and of course those are on the bottom.....okay.

The biggest chunk is 25mm long - 1 3/8 inch or so, *my* thumb is only slightly longer so okay, bad comparison. It's 15mm high, and 16 mm across the other side....it's almost like a long pyramid with 4 sides, but the sides are all 15-16mm. The length is the longest part. The smallest one is about 18mm long., 18 x 9 x 16 mm on other sides. The rest fall in between. They are tumbled nuggets, so the size simply isn't uniform. And...I went by the package, which said 5" strand, but I just laid it out and it's 8" long. I'll go change the header for that now.

Cheers,
M

The one I used as "longest" is the dark purple one on the extreme right edge of the third photograph, btw. Shortest is the second from the top on the second photo.

Hope this helps, some things are hard to describe!
