The listing, 2 Jefferson Silver Nickels 1943S, 1945S has ended.

During World War II, silver was substituted for nickel in making 5 cent pieces because the metal nickel had strategic use for weapons.

Jefferson silver war nickels are rare and distinguished in that they contain 35% silver, being the only nickels ever made that contain any silver. They are distinctive too for the large mint mark above Monticello's dome on the reverse.

The coins you see are what you'll get: 1943S and 1945S.
