MUST HAVE MUST HAVE MUST HAVE! This is a great part of history commemorating a great man! I'm excited to list this wonderful coin commemorating Winston Churchill. This is a 1965 UK Great Britain English Crown (5 Shillings) Winston Churchill Commemorative. This was the first time a commoner was portrayed on a British coin. The obverse of the coin was reserved for the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Churchill’s bust and name appear with seemingly equal esteem on the reverse. As you are will aware, Churchill was very highly revered world wide. He died at the age of 90 in 1965 (the year this coin was minted. He was the first and only commoner to lie in state at the palace for 3 days following his death.
