Nothing is broken, on inspection, including the switch. I've had it for a few years, but simply have not used it because I have another Aiptek. It has never been dropped or mishandled and was working fine, so I decided to put it up on Listia, because I wasn't using it. Someone bidded on it and when I rechecked it before the bidding was over, to my horror, it didn't turn on. I had to cancel the auction, and explain to Listia and the bidder. So that's it. It may be an easy fix.
