The bust of George Washington was done in 1785 by Jean Antoine Houdon, a noted French sculptor. from a life mask of George Washington. To honor the Colonial Craftsmen of Williamsburg, Virginia these four stamps were created. Depicted are the Glass Blower, the Hatter, the Wigmaker and Silver Craftsman - all significant in the development of Boston’s economic growth in the17th Century.
