For peoples information the patches represented here are 87th division, 9th & 3rd armored division, Tank destroyes (Camp Hood), 5th Air Corps, Civilian Conservation corps, unknown Naval arm patch, Civil air patrol cadet patch, (2) 9th division corps, another unknown Navel patch, 3rd Army corps and a single chevron for the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps)
Took a little research but the Navy patch in the top row, all the way to the right is "Apprentice petty officer rating badges(boot camp), pre 1941 examples)
Yaz, I don't know how you found that, 'cause I searched until I was about cross-eyed and could not find any just like it. Thank you! All I knew for sure was that it was Pre WW2 because the Eagle looks to the right.
I did now find that same thread, on that same page, toward the top it shows a Machinist's Mate rate which has the propeller.. Looks kinda like the one I have of just the prop and leafs.. On mine, The thread(?) looks more gold colored beads, it's really thick and heavy.. would that be what their calling 'bullion'? That guy Jason, has one heck of a collection! Thanks Yaz1983!!
If you want to see my collection so far, go to http://s117.photobucket.com/user/Osasfedoche/library/Autographs/Veterans/Memorabilia?sort=4&page=1 I have about 4 of 5 pieces I haven't scanned yet.
