Thank you for looking at this copy of the check used to pay for Alaska, which was purchased for $7.2 million which was made payable to the Russian Minister to the United States Edouard de Stoeckl, who negotiated the deal for the Russians. This is a copy of an original that I own.The Second copy is marked to show amount and date, this one will not be sent to you the copy that is unmarked will be sent via email.
Also shown here is the Treaty of Cession, signed by Czar Alexander II, which formally concluded the agreement for the purchase of Alaska from Russia.
