The listing, SINGER SEWING MACHINE 31-15 has ended.

UP FOR YOUR BIDDING CONSIDERATION
This is a Singer 31-15 Sewing Machine. Serial Number
AL035213
from what I found on the internet it is a industrial machine. I think it sits on a old pedistal with the foot pump. There is no place on the back for a motor. The pulley/wheel on the right does go all the way around. it has a needle and a bobbin with it. You look at the pictures you can see it was used alot. The paint is gone where your hand would normally sit. I took the end cover off to take a picture in there. The cover is on it.
Now for the bad news; This machine weights 50 pounds so the winner will have to pay flat rate shipping. I will allow local pickup if you are close and we can agree on a hour. Due to my work schedule week-ends are better for me. I am guessing at the shipping cost until I check out the prices.
As always any questions please ask.
Questions & Comments

Everyone should remember this is an older sewing machine and they are very heavy. Not the cheap plastic stuff they use today. I have one of these that was my grandmas and it is very heavy. I say 50 is a great price for shipping.

Thank you for the comments. The problem is this machine is 20-1/2" long, 8" deep, and 13-1/2" tall. And that doesn't include the packing I would put around it to protect it. So the box will probably be 24" long, 10" deep or more and 15 or 16" tall. It cannot move at all or they will not accept it. So has to be packed good.

I don't think this seller is far off in shipping. UPS is not inexpensive yet deal with this size of box. If you didn't already have bidders I would suggest stating exact shpg. You are bound by your listing to ship for that amount now.

Great auction! Neat sewing machine. I have my grandma's singer, in the cabinet, peddle and all. GL with your auction!!

Thank you, Fanned you, I like that picture.
I don't think anyone would complain if I found shipping for less than the 50.00 I stated. Like i said before. I am not on here to make money off of shipping. I have seen too much of that on Ebay. And have paid for over priced shipping.

When you push on the pedal does the part that holds the needle move up and down if so it should work

Sorry but there is no pedal, but when you turn the pulley/ wheel the needle does go up and down.

Great piece. I'm not sure if you have tried it out, since it is a footpedal industrial model, but does it seem to work? I mean, does the spimdle and bobbin move and such? I have one of these, but my wife really likes this one. Fanned and Watching and thanks fer listing!!!

Like I stated in the description. The Pulley/ Wheel does turn all the way around. Note sure how to watch the bobbin.

These folks suggesting ANY flat-rate boxes, including regional, must have no idea how small they all are compared to any full-sized sewing machine & most especially a huge industrial head like this one.

I understand you don't know the exact shipping, and $50 is pretty reasonable, but a few times you've mentioned $100, which I can't do. So before I bid I need to know I wouldn't be charged more than the $50 you listed.

I checked on Greyhound express, and for a 60# package, the dimensions you quoted, from zip code 64050 (closest I could get to Independence) shipped to Austin, Texas= $69.70
Best I can do ya!

Thanks, I got something around 66.00.
I called ups for one of the bidders and got around 50.00.
I called fedex and got the pleasure of talking to a computer. Very interesting.
1 Day and 15 hours and I will have a winner and know the real cost with the winners zip code.

A wise old man told me once" Something is worth what you can get out of it" Several bidder think this machine is worth the shipping cost. At least they bid it that way.

Fanned you. Please fan back. I sold a sewing machine on ebay and shipping was about $25. Don't remember for sure. It may have been a few $ more. It depends on distance and weight. I used USPS. Maryland to Texas. It will not fit the flat rate boxes. Usually they're most costly anyhow! You need at least 2" of padding/bubble wrap or crumbled newspaper all around it. Be sure to add tracking and pay the insurance. I have 3 more to list. Maybe I'll try them on here if I don't find a buyer on ebay. I'll be watching to see how bidding goes on yours. I'm new to Listia. Trying to learn this credit system.

thanks, have fanned you back
I had a newer singer on here before and got over 2,000 credits for it.
Sent it to Cal. by fedex had to find a box to fit it.
The credit system is pretty good once you get it figured out. If your new you have to wait for the winner to say they got what ever in the mail. If your a trusted Listian then you get them right away.

OMG!!!! I use to have one just like this. Replaced pedal 3 times and motor twice. It just went ploop. My grandma had it before she gave it to me. I miss that ole straight stitch sewing machine.
Jul 6th, 2013 at 5:30:38 PM PDT by

Must of been newer than this one. This one doesn't have a pedal or a motor. I think it takes a steel pedal you pump with your feet.

I believe what he is saying is that if you use the post office the shipping is $100. But he will be using either UPS or FEDEX which would be around $50. You can go to these sites, and put your zip code, his zip code, and the weight and see the approx shipping cost.

It's well on it's way to alot of credits I will keep bidding until I am out of credits, but I'm confused as to the shipping price, you put $50 as shipping and that what I can pay but you keep mentioning $100 shipping
