Type: Steel Wheat Penny Year: 1943 Mint Mark: No mint mark Face Value: 0.01 USD Total Produced: 684,628,000 [?] Silver Content: 0% Numismatic Value: 45 cents to $10
In the year 1943 the Unites States issued the steel penny because the copper was needed for World War II the steel look is actually the result of the mint using a Zinc coating. This coins is A/u – to me it actually looks like it has bever been in circulation. This coin is simply awesome and stunning! This is a must for any penny collector! The pictures simply can't do it jutice.

Questions & Comments
hard to believe such a coin would be worth the trouble of re-plating considering there are still original rolls of these floating around.
OH dear I did not mean your coin was replated, I definately do not believe it is ANYTHING but authentic. I guess it did look like I was saying it was a good example of a replated coin! Please accept my apology. I think your bidders can rest assured you are honest in your description.
Hi; just browsing through, but to answer "if it was replated", usualy when a 1943 Steelie has been stripped and replated, as some sellers did, the lettering looks heavier and the date not as crisp, probably due to how they dipped or replated them. this is a nice example, good luck.
II bought this under the impression that it was a perfect Steel Penny. The dealer never told me that it was re-plated. Now I am starting to beliece that I was taken. I will offer the winner a refund if they want ine in case it is re-plated. Thanks fir the info.
According to CoinTrackers.com this penny is worth $10.00 dollars. You can check it out here: http://cointrackers.com/coins/13590/1943-steel-wheat-penny/
I have never , ever heard of a 1943 Steel Penny worth that much. You can buy them from a coin dealer for a couple of bucks. The 1943 Copper penny is worth that much. Not the Steel pennies.
