The listing, Electronic Gold Tester Used About 25 Times - Free US & Canada Shipping has ended.
This is the Golden Touch Tester which goes for about $88. I used it on about 25 pieces of jewelry. It worked as advertised except one time when I thought the piece was plated it seemed to register as solid gold. I probably wasn't doing things correctly.
At any rate this lot will come with the tester and 45 or so strips. This new kind of machine doesn't use acid gels or tiny pools of acid but uses test strips instead. It is supposedly the cleanest way to test for gold. It will test from 9 to 24 karats. I think the test strips have the acid embedded in them but they appear to be relatively safe to handle.
I'm getting rid of it, because I'm curious to test another technology and frankly was disappointed with the false positive I got with what I thought was plated gold. I will include a print out of the directions. It's possible I just didn't have the patience to follow them close enough. Anyway as with a lot of my lots, this should be interesting to experiment with.

Here is there answer to my issue from the FAQs listed here - http://www.goldtestus.com/faqs2.htm:
"Q: How accurate is Golden Touch? I.e. would a thick gold-plated finish fool the tester?
A: The test results are accurate, similar to the test made by acids. When there is a suspicion that the plating is thicker than usual, it is advisable to go over the same place a few times. If the tester will show you 14K, you can rely on it that it is 14K."
