Yes. basically this replaces the need for a wifi card in the system. All it needs is 1 open USB port, and windows XP or Vista or WINDOWS 7 or even WINDOWS 8 operating system(s).

is it harder to download without the disk because im afraid about how im going to download it without internet connection on that computer. could I download it or move a file with a usb?

yes you can collect the driver in a usb device drive and install it into the computer without internet connection if you use the edimax install.exe file from the site you posted.

if using windows xp, windows 7, or windows 8 it may find the adapter on its own and install it. Worked on all the systems I have them in. Never had to use the disk. But for some reason if it doesnt with your system, then just download the install file from their download section place it on a usb drive, then install it from the usb drive into the computer without internet access.
