HI Bren_001 I love poetry, I am a published poet myself. Am not familiar with this author so was wondering can you tell me, I am trying to get my 11 yr. old daughter more into reading she is autistic and has adhd, would this set be something that might grab her attention and influence her to read or is this more along teen-adult level? Thanks, Watching.
Hi Lawbrainiac , I would have to agree with Crowder. This would most likely be a little too advanced for the average 11 year old to read themselves . My Mother used to read these stories to me when I was very young. I have a grandson who was diagnosed with Asperger's a few years back too. He is Very gifted in Art .... I just was searching around for a book that I thought might be of interest to your daughter . I'm going to put the amazon link here for one . Check it out and see what you think ...."Different Like Me: My Book of Autism Heroes". http://www.amazon.com/Different-Like-Me-Autism-Heroes/dp/1843108151/ref=pd_sim_b_7 Brenda : )
John Beecroft was the editor for these editions, They are a collection of Rudyard Kipling's works, including the Jungle Book, Rikki-Tikki-Tavi, and much much more. Parts of it might be a little advanced for an 11 year old, unless they are an avid reader, but these are definitely classics worth having on the shelf!
Thanks Bren_001 I am gonna get that book from Amazon for her. But I think I am gonna try to win these books to cause if I understand you and Crowder correctly if I read them to her she would be able to follow and enjoy the storyline but she may struggle if she tried to read it herself. Thanks Crowder for jumping in and helping me.
