Were these fermented before drying?

I've never heard of fermenting other than wet seeds (like tomato and cantaloupe). These stayed on the tree until dry for full maturation. If you aren't planting them now, they should be stored in the freezer. If you prefer, you can wash and let them air dry, but I've only done that when I prepare them for storage.

what do you do w/ your Mulberries? I have a tree that is FULL of berries every year and I HATE that tree! Soooooo many berries that get all over your shoes & stain them. Even my chickens won't eat them!?!?!? The tree is over 100 yrs old and I wish I could make use of the berries. I pick & freeze all the blackberries on our farm and we have a few strawberry bushes and I make jelly, jam & syrups and we love them. I have tried using the mulberries but ......YUCK. Is it an acquired taste?

I make cobblers and smoothies. Sometimes I add them to salads and I eat them right off the tree. The ones I've recently grown, I'm keeping as bushes.
