Description

The listing, Reprinted Old Pattern Books Choose one has ended.

These are NEWLY reprinted pattern books not some worn out torn copy. The originals of these were from about 1918 to 1936. Those days teen age girls made these things for their HOPE chests. Can you imagine sitting there for years and knitting and crocheting a whole box full? You don't really need corset covers but the small medallions would be great on handkerchiefs. Or the second book Learn How to do Crocheting, knitting, tatting, hairpin lace, and embroidery. The third is a reprint of Needlecraft Magazine from 1922. The number of pages in each is 15, 32, 28 If you want more than one of these just add $2 each to the shipping

Fanned & watching... so just to be clear - these are copies of the old pattern books not the original books is that correct?

No, I don't sell the originals. There are some on ebay occasionally but there theiy are mostly reprints too. World War II with all their paper drives destroyed so many old things. I can cry when I look at the ads in some of them showing all their other titles and wishing I could find them. I have been crocheting since the 4o''s and knitting since 1958. Sewing forever. I made my own doll clothes when I was still playing with dolls. I met a man who burned all his aunt's soileys and dresser scafves and patterns after she died. What a jerk!

I collect both old patterns (so would be interested in reprints or copies) as well as many old pattern books. Are those available for sale or do you have others you would be willing to part with?

I only have a few old books that I have collecdted in the last ten years. I had some okld ones when miy house burned down. They were in a hope chest beside my bed and they didn't burn. The firemen opened the box and hosed it down. When I looked later I had a box of paper mache!

So sorry to hear about the fire... what a terrible loss. Thanks for getting back to me about my questions. I'll be watching this one for sure :)

You can probably win it with one bid. Most of my craft stuff gets only one bid. The younger generations don't do anything. They can't even sew a button on. Nancy
