This 1965 special set as the mint called them are the only mint or proof set that came in a white envelope instead of the cream yellow that you see all the proof sets come in !!! just owning the white envelope is a great collectible !!! they made these special mint sets in 1965,66,and 1967 but the 1966 and 1967 came in plastic cases !!! so this one year and one year only the set came in the white envelope and as you can clearly see in the photo it looks and has the same words as the proof sets have on all of thier envelopes, except there is an s.s. where all the others have proof set !!! it also has a plastic mint logo button saying special mint set & united states mint as you also can see in the photos and this is the only year that has one,the proof sets has a brass button with the initial p or d !!! get a old proof set and look at them together !!!this also has a silver kennedy half dollar in it !!! i sold a 1969 and 1970 proof set for 10,000 so with this special mint set i have to raise the credit bid alittle !!! i did have the kennedy half in my collection book until i realized what i had,so i put it back !!! your share of the shipping is $1.50 giving you a decent break and i want you to click on the large photo to get a super up close look at the coins !!! thank you !!!
