PART 1:
Raina traveled through the ether of time in a slow dream-like state for what felt like eternity, only recalling darkness and occasional flashes of neon color. A flash of purple...pink...blue... "Where am I?", Raina thought. And, suddenly, reality hit and time finally found a destination! Falling from the sky, Raina landed in a rose bush. OUCH! With only a few scratches, she found herself in front of the biggest and strangest house she had ever seen! It was a brick home of the Victorian style, in which Raina had only seen wood houses with straw roofs before. It was magnificent and intimidating. Jolting Raina back to reality was someone screaming, “GOOD LORD, CHILD! What in Heaven's name are you doing in my rose bushes?! OH MY BEAUTIFUL ROSES”. Running from the porch was what appeared to be an old woman in a frilly dress of all sorts of colors. She quickly ran up to Raina (surprisingly fast for her age), pointed an arthritic finger at her, and was about to yell again. But it seemed like before her words could become audible they had vanished into thin air like Raina had prior to her arrival here. Finally, after regaining her composure, the old woman stuck her beak-like nose up in the air and condescendingly said, “Good Lord, child. You are practically naked. You're not one of those- savages - are you?”. With a blank look on Raina's face, the old woman became impatient and dragged Raina into her house. Upon entering, she shrieked, “JEEVES, JEEVES!”. A middle-aged man with huge bags under his eyes and dressed in a typical butler's uniform quickly entered the foyer. The old woman gave him instructions to send for the town's best seamstress, Daisy. As they ascended the flight of stairs the old woman hastily said, “Now, until I can make you look somewhat decent, you need to stay upstairs. I've never been the talk of the town, and I'm not going to start being it now. You will not ruin my good name like you ruined my roses.” (BID FOR REST OF P. 1)
