my daughter was born 11 weeks early and it was very tuff, so I know how it feels. We also had nothing for her too. Plus to make it worse were moving. She came on the day, literally the day we were moving. So all of our stuff was packed up in the u haul. But everything worked out just fine. She is now 3 years old. She is 3'5 and weighs 40 pounds with perfect health!

He was born one day before my b-day

my daughter Violet was 5 weeks early and 4lbs 3 oz. She needed some help at first too. I had to wake her up to eat at night. Then when she was 3 weeks old she stopped breathing at home and we took her to the hospital she spent another 3 weeks in the picu. She had infantile apnea. She would have periods of just not breathing (sometimes up to 30 sec). It was very scary... We had just lost my nephew ( a 6 weeks preemie) at 7 weeks old around that time to SIDS. The nurse would tell me your baby is okay and she needs you to be strong. It was the hardest time of my life. I was surrounded with people but I felt so alone. My child was put on a ventilator and then to bi-pap, c-pap and finally oxygen till she was sent home. We spent the next year with many scares. We had a monitor for her first year. It would alert us to her apnea spells. We had to learn CPR. And used it only once on her. It can be very scary. Thankfully it is outgrown at 1 year old in most infants and Violet has outgrown this condition. I wish I could tell you she is huge... But she is a peanut. 20 months old now and only 22 lbs. The smartest little thing tho. I was so scared she would be behind on things... but she is so wonderful, funny, and smart. I thank God she is still here with me. I will pray for your grandson and know he will be full of wonderful suprises later on just like my preemie has been. God bless!!!

hes in a basnet now actually and im so happy he finally came home in my arms but now he crys a lot and i barley get any sleep now :(

ahhh i hate to say this but I wish my son was born so tiny as all these , he was 6 1/2 wks early and STILL WEIGHTED 12lbs 11oz all the stuff i got from my baby shower went to my girls for thier dolls, and i had him at home. anyway i have my own jewelry biz and have a ton of seed beads and other things email me your address an ill get them right out to ya and my god bless you and your family if ya dont mind ill put yall on the prayer list at chruch!!!

god bless samuel. I know how your feeling. My son was 8 weeks early,in the NICU in Boston for 31 days, the longest 31 days of my life. He just turned six years old on sunday november 14 and has amazed us all every day. Good luck and god bless you and ur family, ecspecially that little miracle samuel.

Awww I have been there myself with my son born at about 30 weeks 2lbs 15oz. He was also tube fed from his tummy at first... I remember when people would tell me oh I know so and so was preemie and look at them now! I didn't want to hear it.. MY baby was in the NICU fighting for his life....My son is 4 now going to be 5on the 19th and it brings back heart wrenching memories. He is HUGE now 53 lbs and only 18 inches shorter than me! I also didn't have anything when he was born. I didn't have a baby shower and we had moved into our own place while I was in the hospital having him (my hub actually did the moving).I'm thankful for an aunt that I had she went to thrift stores and got clothes and asked around for things... I stayed at the hospital and then the place they put me in..His first Christmas was spent in the hospital as well. I didn't leave him at all...He came home on oxygen and caffeine for his heart and was a bit behind at first but he has more than caught up and surpassed all the kids his age. He is SOOOO smart!! I will remember your little one in my prayers that is a promise.
