The listing, PS 3 Backwards Compatible has ended.

This is a rare backwards compatible PS3! This mean it will play PS1 and PS2 games. It does need a laser. I do work on these...but at the moment I do not have a laser for it. It comes with all the cords and original box. The controller is a after market logitech. The controller has a couple of bite marks on it. Looks like a dog bit it. I am also putting in a 80GB hard drive. If by chance in the next day or so i get a laser for it I will post that I do have it. Ebay has lasers on there for around 50.00. This is a easy fix that anyone can do! Best of all.... I WILL SHIP FOR FREE IN THE USA! This is AS IS. No returns or refunds.

For further information. My auctions are 3 days. After the 7th day, if I dont not receive your name and address, I will put the item back up for auction on the 10th day. Also on the 10th day you lose the credits you bid on the item. At that time I will give neutral or even negative feedback. I try to be fair on my auctions. I will contact everyone at the end of each auction. I will even send a second notice. After that its up to you if your going to do the right thing. I have had too many auctions I have to repeat cause of no addresses sent. I had one complaint since I started this. Due to that complaint is why I am changing policy here.

I dont know what Caminokid is talking about. As far as I remember the original PS3's were 20gig or 60gig. I don't know where he got the 40gig from, was there even a 40gig model at all?

There was a 40GB. most of the older systems that were Backwards had the 40GB like this one had. Anytime I get one that is has a hard drive that is smaller then 80GB...I will put a 80GB in it. I am sorry about the earlier outburst. I just dont like when someone comes in and starts to talk about something they think they know about. I have sold many systems. But this maybe the last one I post on here because of that.

I wasn't able to get in on a lot of psp auctions but I think I'll bite on this one. I don't really know much about the ps3s but there seem to be quite a few videos on youtube about repairing them. However, according to wikipedia the 40gb models didn't have ps2 emulation, although wikipedia is sometimes wrong. Regardless, I've been wanting to get into repair game systems and this would be a nice project to work on. Perhaps you can give me some repair tips if I win. :)

Game systems are really not that hard to repair. The biggest thing is patience. Taking your time and watching what you are doing in the key.

you can get a good used on on ebay if you are willing to put in the time and money to weed through the ones that are obvious scams, but you will still spend $150~200 on a working one. Check facebook marketplace, I bought my son one with 7 games for $350, and another one for my husband on ebay for $200. Neither is backwards compatible, which is a great thing. I think we should all be thanking this nice guy for putting this up on here in the first place when he could be making a nice chunk of cash on ebay for it. It sickens and angers me that people were attacking you, I am sorry about that, even though it wasn't me! You are doing a nice thing and should be commended for it. I don't know why people are getting so up in your face, because the bottom line is that it IS free, AND you are giving free shipping which is great. Please don't stop listing nice things on here, I LOVE this site and want it to become better and better....so thank you, for what it's worth. sorry I can't bid on it, I don't have that many credits plus 2 PS3's in the house is probably enough....lol : )

I'm not saying you aren't an honest seller because I think you obviously are and have well enough feedback to prove it. This is a great listing but I just wanted to ask about the PS/PS2 utility thing to see if you know more info...
I have a new ps3 slim I just got like last month and I assume it's not backwards compatible obviously. I went ot he PS Store and downloaded the memory card thing and now have that option just like in your picture. Do you know if they somehow are making the new ones backwards compatible too or does it not matter?

What makes me go off on this is that fact I always get one that tries to prove me wrong. I dont understand it. You dont do this kind of work or any other kind of work for as long as I have and want to mess someone over. To lie about something will get you in trouble. I understand that. A laser is cheaper. I have been attacked in emails since I posted this. The guy that attacked this auction didnt help me demeanor on this. So i am sorry for blowing off again on this. Sony may send you a new one...but it wont be backwards compatible.

i had never seen a backwards that had been the newer style with the 2 ports. This one is an exception. the guy that started the argument earlier I banned him from all my auctions. anyone that wins this and can prove me wrong i will return their credits and will never post another electronic item again. I will make sure i have the serial number off the boards and the unit it self. I do put my name on the inside on the boards and will make sure no scams me. I repair and sell these all the time. because of scammers I will have to see the unit before i will return credits.

2 ports..USB. g01. before you go and call someone and they start telling you it isnt backwards compatible...look at the second pic. That is the screen shot of where is shows the PS/PS2 memory. If it wasnt backwards...it wouldnt have the PS/PS2 memory.

as far as sending it to Sony for repair...yes they get crazy on the price. The laser isnt that expensive. A shop can fix it cheaper then Sony. I fix these for 50.00 if I can get the laser. If I get the laser before the auction ends... i will post that I did like a said. I will not put up with people that are wanabee tech try to under mind me. Yes i am a little upset over the person that posted that. I will not deceive anyone in any auction. I have been working on game systems since 1982.

ok 2 things wrong with this auction... First of all the ps3 only made 1 version of the backwards compatible systems and it was to 40g 4 USB port drive. SOOO hmm makes me wonder. Look it up online only the 40g is backwards compatible. 2nd off if the laser is screwd which just happened to me playstation will not replace for a pretty penny. It will cost up to 200 dollars to replace only good thing is you send yours in takes about 2 months and they will send you a new one but no they give u a new 120g ps3 system and a game BUT thats only if thier was no tampering or damage to the system. Ok If you look at the screen shot I took you will see the PS1/PS2 memory slot. If you are so smart...maybe you ought to become a tech. Before you run off at the mouth...check your facts. If it wasnt backwards compatible...the PS1/PS2 slots on the screen wouldnt be there. I put a 80 GB drive in it. LOOK AT THE DESCRIPTION.
