Description

The listing, Achocha (Fat Baby) Seeds has ended.

For those unfamiliar with Achocha, it's a south American vegetable. It grows on prolific and rampant vines (mine grab hold of anything close to them!) that form little tiny flowers that hoverflies adore. The vegetable itself can be eaten when little and immature (and tastes of a cucumber), but I prefer to wait until they've grown a bit bigger. When they're larger (about two inches), paler, and when you can squeeze them easily, they become basically hollow inside. You can then stuff them and bake them or put them into stifries, chilli, soups. It doesn't have a very strong flavour when cooked, and a lot of people say it tastes like green pepper. They're covered in rubbery spines that look scary but are harmless. They're my favourite thing that I've grown this year, and it's been a great talking point at the allotment! They an heirloom and also don't cross pollinate
with anything else. Each vegetable has about 10 seeds that you can save to plant next year.

This auction is for 8 seeds, saved from my best achocha plant this year.

Please note:
I will send this to you if you are in the States, but seeds aren't technically allowed to be sent into the country, though I've never had any problems doing so. If you are in the United States and bid on this auction, please be aware that they may be confiscated by customs.
