this is a vintage (KEY-TAG-PIN) for laundry and other stuff they used them for, this does have markings and its numbered, this was my grandmothers and I have no idea way she keep it, lol, but the numbers on the pin are faint and I cant really make them out but I think they are 1991827, its also looks like the word (KEYTAG) is inscribed on it as well, there are more markings on it but I cant make them out,THEY DONT MAKE THEM LIKE THIS ANYMORE!!this thing is huge and thick and I don't think it would ever tear up or break!! I just thought somebody would think this is cool and would want it, because I was going to throw it in the trash, lol, but ill try to look up more info on this and if you have any please share, im kinda interested to no more about it myself, thanks.

These were used for Military laundry bags. Navy for certain, I'm not sure if other branches used them or not. My husband has some from being a Navy vet & so did my ex who was a Navy Vet as well. That's all I can share. :) I think they r so neat!

I worked in a drycleaners/laundry in the 80s and these are the type of pins we used to identify separate orders. We would check in the dirty laundry and put them into net bags and use these numbered pins to close the bag. The laundry first opened in the early 50s, and used these pins until they closed about 10 years ago. Great auction, brings back memories.
