Propagating dwarf poinciana from seeds is simple. The shrub's fruits are flat, 3- to 6-inch long pods, each of which contains several seeds. The pods resemble pea pods, mature in autumn and turn brown. They pop open, ejecting their seeds. After gathering some of the plant's seeds, either soak them in warm water for 24 hours or place them between two moist paper towels overnight. Pricking each seed with a needle or other sharp, thin object allows water to penetrate the seeds.
