Like the posting says, I bought a scratching post at the same time. So, which one works is still in the air. I think it was a combination of the two. Is your scratching post very sturdy? Not one that hangs on a door or is made of cardboard?

It's very sturdy but he just don't like it I don't know why but he will play around it, lay on it, sniff it all day long but won't scratch it
