The listing, Lot of 25 High Quality British Empire Stamps, 1906 to 1988 has ended.
"The sun never sets on the British Empire." At least that's what they said in the heyday of "the greatest empire that has been." Whenever Britain got the chance, it issued stamps for every swath of territory it controlled. This stamp lot represents the good, the bad and the ugly of the British Empire, ranging from India (where the current queen's father had the title of "Emperor") to the neglected Central American backwater of British Honduras. All stamps here are pre-independence. The oldest stamp is from the Transvaal issued right after the turn of the last century while the most recent stamp hails from Hong Kong and was issued in 1988. You get a lot of variety in between. Great for the collector, the history buff, or the Listian who longs for a more glorious imperial age. Thanks for checking out this auction!
