Description

The listing, Diamond Yah A real Diamond has ended.

This is a real african diamond, over a quarter carat, I got in a lot of assorted sizes and grades of diamonds for my studio. This stone is .25 + carats, and 4mm so it's not real small, big enough to set alone. It is faceted and It has a slight yellow tinge. Be aware it isn't a top of the grade stone but could be set in jewelry and it is a REAL diamond. I won't have it appraised just so I can give it away on the site.It will be shipped registered and insured unless you choose otherwise

This is not a bead, although I do have some diamond beads. They are generally not faceted. This stone is faceted that was why I couldn't get it to sit flat for the picture This little stone came in a large package of diamonds I bought that were a mixed lot. That means a bunch of sizes and grades but all real and certified real by a gemologist. Most of the stones were really high quality but small side stone size. I use loads of these. This stone is just big enough to set as a focal stone but it isn't top quality, poor thing . sort of like an ugly sister. If I were to set it in my studio I wouldn't be able to sell it in the gallery, so I thought maybe one of the members of the site might like a real diamond to play around with, without spending a chunk of money to get it.I do jewelry and fine art for a living so I'm particular what goes in my sales gallery. If it doesn't go here I will put it in the discard bowl that I let my students go thru.

Aren't African Diamonds also referred to as Blood Diamonds, due to how they were mined and what is with the hair and dust in the presentation?

African diamonds are not Blood Diamonds which are illegal to import. Africa is the worlds leading producer of diamonds and if you have ever bought a diamond from any jewelry store have probably bought an african diamond. The picture is a closeup so you see a lot that wouldn't normally be so prominant also I live in the SW and dust is just something you have to live with out here and the hair well I have dogs that come to the studio on a regular basis so do the math. Neither of these things will affect the stone but if you are afraid of a little dirt and hair don't bid.

I cannot tell from the photos, it is a faceted diamond? Pointed on the bottom, or a round "bead"? Thanks.
