The listing, Vintage Stamped Silver Art Deco Style Pendant has ended.

This is older, but I can't say how much older. It is stamped A835, and has what I believe to be some kind of jewelers mark on it. It came from someone who traveled to different countries, so I have no idea where this originated. It is very art deco styled, and measures almost an inch wide and two inches long. It has some kind of tape-like substance on the back, I'm not sure what is is. It is textured, so the square pieces actually stick out. Some of the squares have a silver shiny finish, and some are textured and don't shine at all. A truly very unique piece.

Does the tape-like substance just need to be removed or is it broken?

No, it's not broken. It was made that way. I think it's there to give the squares a background. This is like a 3-D pendant. It has length, width, and the squares are on little pieces of metal that come from the base, so they stick out. I hope this explains it better. If the clear tape-like substance wasn't there, whatever you wear this with might show through a little from underneath the squares. Sorry, that's the best I can explain it. I hope this helps.
